George comes to Generation Justice by way of California, Washington, D.C., and Bahia, Brazil. Like Cheech Marin’s fictional character Rudy Robles in the film Born in East L.A., George too was born in East L.A. He took his degree in History from the University of California at Riverside, and soon after became an AmeriCorps VISTA in Washington, D.C. He has worked and volunteered with/for various organizations and causes during. From working with elementary-aged children in Washington, D.C. to clean up and construction work in Biloxi, MS., after Hurricane Katrina; from working with women with mental disabilities to helping to prepare meals for the hungry; from voter registration drives to working as a tour guide at Dodger Stadium; from legal aid work to radio work as a volunteer with WPFW 89.3 in Washington, D.C. (Pacifica Radio), George has thoroughly enjoyed and learned from every experience thus far.
