UNM Students for Justice in Palestine – Audio Interview [Radio] – Generation Justice

This week is Israeli Apartheid Week. This is an annual international series of events held in cities and campuses across the globe.  The aim is to educate people about the nature of Israel as an apartheid system and to build Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions campaings as part of a growing global BDS movement. For over 64 years, Palestine has been under military occupation. For the past 10 years, the Palestine Solidarity movement around the world has grown tremendously with more and more people becoming aware of the situation.

Becky Erickson is a graduate student in Sociology at the University of New Mexico. Julie Jaynes is an undergraduate student in English and Philosophy and a minor in Spanish at UNM. Lizzy Perkal is a social justice major at UNM.  Becky, Julie, and Lizzy are also active members of UNM’s Students for Justice in Palestine.  Our very own Jocilyn Tafoya spoke with Becky, Lizzy and Julie about the importance of being conscious of the Israeli Occupation and the power of student activism. Here is an additional interview to the Sunday February 26th radio production of Generation Justice.
