2010 People’s Freedom Caravan through Louisville, Chicago, and to Detroit for the 2010 USSF – Generation Justice

This is video 4 of a series of 4 that make up a video journal. The KUNM Youth Radio Project attended the 2010 US Social Forum in Detroit, MI, 2010 June, by way of the People’s Freedom Caravan (PFC), organized by The SouthWest Organizing Project (SWOP), Southwest Workers Union (SWU) and Southern Echo. The PFC stopped in various communities along the way to the 2010 USSF, where the Caravan Freedom Riders stood in solidarity with the activists and grass roots organizers.

The People’s Freedom Caravan sang and chanted its way through Louisville, KY., where they held a rally and moved on to march on City Hall in Chicago, IL. When the Caravan arrived in Detroit, MI the Caravanistas marched in solidarity with close to 20,000 activists from around the nation and the globe in the opening march of the 2010 United States Social Forum. Caravans from Atlanta, Georgia, New Orleans, Lo., San Francisco, Ca., and many other joined the New Mexico, Texas, Mississippi Freedom Riders from SouthWest Organizing Project, Southwest Workers Union, Southern Echo and The KUNM Youth Radio Project were a few of the many.
